The vision of Immanuel World Missions is to be "loving internationals as God loves them," and our mission is to be " making disciples cross-culturally." Whether across the street or around the world, these phrases represent tangilbe ways for the people of Immanuel Bible Church to live out the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
EARTHQUAKE AND TSUNAMI IN JAPAN
In response to the tragedy in Japan, we have been in touch with our missionaries in Japan. We are evaluating their immediate needs and disaster needs requests.
On Thursday evening, March 24, the Elder Council passed a recommendation to donate $10,000 from the Benevolent Fund to be used for Japan disaster relief. Both of our Immanuel-supported missionaries in Japan have recommended that their supporting churches give through a non-governmental organization called CRASH-Japan (Christian Relief, Assistance, Support and Hope).
CRASH exists "to equip Christians in Japan to be ready when disaster strikes to show the love of Jesus in practical and effective ways. Our method is to provide a model of action, accurate information and volunteer training to a broad network of churches and ministries across Japan. CRASH is endorsed by the Japan Evangelical Missionary Association and works in cooperation with the Disaster Relief Commission of the Japan Evangelical Association,"
Individuals are encouraged to make donations to CRASH-Japan, or to World Relief or Samaritan's Purse, two organizations that Immanuel has supported in previous emergencies. Donations to Immanuel's Benevolent Fund are always thankfully received. Please write "benevolent" in the memo portion of your check if you choose to give thru Immanuel.

LIVING WATER IN HAITI
In January, 2010, Immanuel contributed $15,000 to Living Water International to help with earthquake relief in Haiti. Living Water has produced a video clip describing their work to restore wells that were destroyed by the earthquake. You can watch the video here. In August a short-term missions team from Immanuel will be traveling to Nicaragua to work with Living Water.
