Following our Lord's command (Matthew 28:19-20), we baptize those who have trusted Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Prior to baptism, candidates need to attend a baptism class (Adult/Youth Class or Foundations of the Faith for children). Here, the significance and mode of baptism are explained. There will also be time to discuss your personal testimony, procedures for the baptismal service and an opportunity for questions, answers and discussion.

The baptism class is a one-hour class that is offered on Sunday mornings approximately one month prior to the next scheduled baptism. Adults and youth should prepare a 150 word testimony and bring it to the class you attend. Use this handout to help you with writing your testimony. If you are interested in baptism, please register online or click here to download the baptism request form and mail it to Immanuel’s Discipleship & Family Office. All adults, youth and children should fill out this form if interested in getting baptized.

As part of the baptismal service, our AVL department will pre-record a video of the candidate's personal testimony of how God brought them to saving faith in Jesus Christ. Please ask about scheduling the recording at the time of your class.
